“Never dishonor your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the whole country will turn to prostitution and be filled with people who are perverted.”

Leviticus 19:29 (GW)

Introduction

Anyone who spends any time at the gym, or has seen a few TikTok shorts has probably noticed that there are quite a number women who don’t fit the standard western norm in terms of appearance. They actually look shapely and sexy! RedPillBoomer noticed this when he wrote,

“One thing I will say briefly about the Stacy’s at the gym, they sure now how to form fit their workout clothes to their bodies, barley anything is left to the imagination as far as what kind of curves they’re packing. No complaints, I just don’t remember those kind of gym outfits on the women back in the eighties and nineties.”

What happened?

The standards changed.

Women who are “in shape” today are hotter, in terms of their bodies, because the standard changed from 1995 to 2021. In 2021, the standard is much more firm/toned/tight. Women do much much MUCH more resistance training and other routines today to make all their muscle groups toned and firm.

Why did this happen?

In my view, it’s a downstream impact of porn.

The difference between a 7 body in 1995 and a 7 body now is muscle tone/firmness/tightness. The 1995 body was more or less designed to look great in clothes, and fine in a bathing suit, but most girls did not have what were then called “bikini bodies” — even most 7s didn’t. The bikini body was a specific type of look, a much more toned body look overall than the average “hot” woman had in 1990-1995. In 1995, there were some girls who looked better with clothes than they did without, and some who looked better without than with, but since most girls wear clothes more than they are naked, most girls went for a look that looked better in clothes (including most “hot” girls in that era as well).

Along comes the mainstreaming of porn, and suddenly almost all men are looking at the kind of female bodies that look best naked all the time, in numbers that no men in prior history were ever exposed to. The women in porn are s1uts, but most of them are the kind of girls who look good naked, obviously.

Thus, the culture wide sex saturation created by ubiquitous pornography, Instagram, OnlyFans, Sugar dating, etc. is having enormous impacts on the rest of society at large, just as conventional prostitution and pre-internet pornography did.

This shifted the beauty standard for women towards “porn-worthy” bodies. Instead of a smaller portion of women having that kind of super-toned body, now all “hot” women are getting that kind of body by doing the kind of routines that yield it — which they didn’t as recently as 25 years ago. Now, a woman can’t be hot without having that kind of body — in order to be truly hot now, you have to have a porn-star body (sans the fake boobs) in terms of the body tone, firmness and so on.

PilledHolySpirit said this is part of a fetish known as Bimbofication.

Given that shift, clothing moved in the same direction. Again, that kind of body looks best without clothes. But girls aren’t going to work out naked, so …. we just make clothes that are basically like being naked while wearing clothes! And that is what was done.

Much of female “clothing” today truly is “clothing in name only”. It may cover the skin, but it reveals the body in ways that clothing previously generally did not do in the same way without revealing skin itself. Clothing has been redesigned to allow the display of an effectively nude female body while at the same time covering the skin so as to be “technically” clothing. Workout clothing has followed suit, and now there is crossover between workout and non-workout clothing for women as well.

All of this is easy to explain once you understand the porn-induced shift in the emphasis on female body tone, which has in turn resulted in a spike in demand for, and supply of, clothing that in effect displays a nude female body in everything but a technical sense.

It’s all porn now, whether you’re technically watching actual porn or not, unless you are literally blind.

The Bimbofication of Society

Something similar has, of course, happened with social interaction in general: people not speaking to people in public, not knowing their neighbors, but interacting with a large number of people virtually, on the internet, in their “tribes of choice”.

One effect is that sex is everywhere, and nowhere, at the same time – a seeming paradox. Schrodinger’s Sex Culture, if you will.

The culture is becoming increasingly sanitized of actual sexual interactions and banter between live persons. According to surveys, even younger people are having less of it than even GenX did. Even so, the culture as a whole, is marinating in raunchy sex at the same time. Sex is widely available and has never been so easy to get, yet increasing numbers of men cannot access women at all, not even for interaction and conventional dating, much less sex. Even if younger people are having less sex, virtually all women have had premarital sex. The transactional sex culture has become an entire underground culture, that more and more people are at least dabbling in, much like the rise of the Carousel in the 1970s.

The rise of the virtual is the main reason for this.

Sex is much more transactional. it’s always been the case that women expect to get something in return for sex. Used to be women would accept commitment, fidelity, a date, a free night out, and a man’s undivided attention where he dances like a monkey for her. Now? That’s not anywhere good enough. She wants cash and gifts, and she wants them now. Friend with benefits isn’t good enough. It’s not enough that you’re her friend. You’re now required to “pay” for her time with money and gifts.

Again, I point to the rise of the virtual as a main reason for this.

It’s always been the case that men were in it for the sex. It used to be that men would play the game and at least go through the motions. It used to be that men would dance the dance, run some Game, and show her a good time in exchange for at least a good chance that sex will happen at the end of the night. Whatever he has to do to get sex, that’s what he’ll do.

Now? Men’s response to the current state of affairs has been to either (1) demand sex, right now, or move on to the next woman; or (2) drop out altogether. The men who “dropped out” have an alternative now, which is to use OF (one step above conventional porn), get an escort, or get a sugar baby. He’s still doing whatever he has to do to get sex. Now, men get sex either by being so attractive as to be irresistible to a large swath of women; or offering up immediate cash on the barrelhead. Either way, he gets sex right now, no strings attached.

The Bimbofication of Sexuality and Attractiveness

The internet is having very significant changes on human life, on the margins, and it’s showing up in various ways. The impact on social life has been substantial, and in the realm of sex it has virtualized sex, to a significant degree, because the rise of the various apps and so on has made new possibilities for interaction possible for men (not just the standard porn, but now OF with its customized/tailored/personal content, interacting with cam girls, sugar babies and so on), and new avenues for gathering attention and male resources possible for women (same thing from the other side of the table). Meeting people for dating has become largely virtual as well, as we know, and this has had massive impacts, too, like excluding people who do not look very good in pictures from many dating opportunities, especially men. The internet-ization of everything is proceeding apace, and the changes are rippling through the culture faster than people can notice or assess them — it is no different in the areas of sex and men/women and we are foolish to think otherwise, in my opinion.

So it is with the amateur sex industry. Most women will not become Instathots. Most women will never become cam girls or Only Fans girls. Most women will not get into sugar dating. But we are already seeing a lot of effect on the culture at large. But there, the effect of the amateur sex industry is less on appearance and more on the way men and women deal with each other.

More generally, pornography represents a manifestation of the movement of sex away from always having a procreative element towards being primarily about shared pleasure and, if desired, the potential bonding that comes through that. Porn, of course, ditches the latter element, but under the new polysexual revolution regime, the latter element was always opt-in, just as the pregnancy element was. All you are left with is the pleasure principle, and porn caters precisely to this.

Yet with the internetification of porn, the impacts become more complex and wide-reaching. It’s correct that sexual behaviors and appearance expectations have been shaped, for both sexes — expectations about musculature of men have similarly increased almost cartoonishly, as have penis sizes, and black men have become fetishized via porn in a way that is reflected in the popular culture by such phenomena, just to take the most well-known example, as the Kardashian/Jenner crew, which just happens to feature a family of 6 white women, virtually all of whom are exclusively involved with black men, and so on.

And, in fact, the impact is even deeper than that. One of the porn world’s “dirty little secrets” is that areas like transgender erotica have, for a number of years now, and before the rise of the trans movement to the forefront of discourse, been among the leading growth areas of porn itself. More and more people have been viewing, and that means getting aroused by, transgender images, which means images of these “new, improved young trans women” than in the past, and this has also undoubtedly impacted overall attitudes towards trans persons, in particular among young people who are internet porn natives, having grown up with internet porn. The impact here is similar to the popularity of homosexual porn, especially homosexual porn depicting females, prior to the rise of gay rights, and how this has softened attitudes over the course of a generation, especially among women themselves, who became solidly pro-gay in the wake of the rise of porn. So the impact of these developments can be traced even to political and cultural movements that no-one is even thinking of when looking at porn, because people can’t connect the dots properly — the old paradigm of the harmless stack of playboys in Uncle Bob’s garage pretty much dominates the brains of most people over 45 when it comes to the topic of porn, and the mere suggestion of any broader impact gets a dismissive hand wave, if that.

Bimbofication in Personal Presentation and Appearances

Now, pornographic beauty standards have affected women’s overall physical appearance, leading to an almost comic exaggeration of feminine body traits. There is great emphasis on what I’ve called “the pornstar look” (which includes many s1ut tells): heavy makeup, sculpted eyebrows, heavy eyeliner and shadowing, perfectly manicured fingernails, and lipstick/lip accentuation. Breasts need to be shapely, and at least bigger than average. Cleavage is routinely shown in most modern dress. There is enormous emphasis on butts (J. Lo, Iggy Azalea, common porn culture, and IG photo technique). Butts have to be curvy with waist-hip ratios down to like .50. In addition to fuller breasts and butts, women want a Roman cheekbone structure, and plump lips. Women want to eliminate crow’s feet and forehead creases, We’ve long had breast implants. We now have implants for the cheeks, jaw, and chin. We now have butt implants. We now have botox injections for lips and wrinkles. Of course we have the $300 manicure/pedicure, in which a majority of women now indulge themselves, for anything from the French manicure to fake nails of all shapes, lengths, and colors. Fake eyelashes are ridiculously large and accentuated. About the only thing that’s gotten smaller about women is their hair.

All of this can be traced back to porn actress appearance and beauty standards.

But the impact is even broader than this, in odd ways as well. The desire to look like porn stars has fueled the development of technologies, especially surgeries and related techniques, to keep pace, and these are being deployed in a much larger number of women than in previous eras. At the same time, the demand from women to retain this kind of “porn-worthy” appearance until much later in life than was ever really desired or expected by either sex has fueled the rise of fitness and nutritional regimes, alongside the surgical and other medical techniques, to produce a crop of top tier appearance women in the 40-60 age range that literally never existed in the history of the human species. There simply were not women who looked like Elizabeth Hurley and Kate Beckinsale do today at their ages in the past — the “older attractive women” of the recent past — you can find their pictures on Google — like Sophia Loren or Elizabeth Taylor and so on, simply did not look like this because they couldn’t, the tech/training/nutrition regimens/etc. didn’t exist, and the average women didn’t aspire to it as well — again, because there was nothing to aspire to, since the techniques that are available now did not exist then. This has now “trickled down” from women like Hurley and Beckinsale, who are both genetically gifted as well, to the “average” attractive woman who is not genetically gifted in the same way, but can still “looksmaxx” her way to her substantial benefit all the way into her 50s with some effort and targeted expenditures. This, in turn, is changing their expectations of their own marriages, their husbands, their dating prospects outside of marriages, and, in some cases, even their earnings possibilities in industries that would pay for their appearances.

Similarly, as the rise of the gay movement was a direct consequence of the separation of heterosexual sex and procreation (which made gay sex and straight sex essentially the same thing culturally), the rise of the porn-driven beauty procedures/treatments/techniques and fitness/dietary regimens has given rise to the transgender movement, as growing numbers of young men, in particular, can use these same techniques and regimens to look more convincingly female, in a sexualized way, than has ever before been possible in human history. The fact that there is a slew of young “trans women” who simply look more feminine than any of these folks ever did in the past no matter how hard they tried has gone a long way to sway attitudes towards trans people just enough to make things that were unthinkable even a few short years ago — like trans women competing in women’s sports, or trans boys using girls locker and rest roomos — mainstream today.

Bimbofication in the Bedroom

The influence of pornography has even had a trickle-down effect into private sexual relationships.

Psychiatrist David Reuben’s Book “Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Sex (but were afraid to ask)” (No kidding, that really is the title) came out in 1969. Most of the information in there is obsolete, and some of it has been questioned by later mental health practitioners. But one of the things he wrote stuck with me: In post WWII/pre-sexual revolution America, most men went to prostitutes for fellatio, because their wives/fiancees/girlfriends wouldn’t do it. Up to the release of the pornographic film “Deep Throat” in the mid 1970s, fellatio was something that “polite” women just did not do. Or, at least, they didn’t talk about it. Fellatio was something that only low class women, prostitutes, and porn actresses did.

This attitude among women slowly whittled away with the growth of women’s sexual liberation, but was still common among a substantial minority of women in the American Midwest up to the late 1980s. They would do almost everything else, including P in V intercourse, but they would not perform fellatio. “Nice girls” in the American Midwest in the late 1980s didn’t do this. Or at least, didn’t talk about it. They were on the Pill and perfectly willing to go “all the way”, particularly if they really really liked you. But fellatio was out of the question.

Presently, it is the rare woman who will not do this, or has not done it. Nearly every woman under the age of 55 has learned how to do it and has done it. Most people trace this back to Deep Throat and the fact that men wanted their women to do this for them. Girls teach each other how to do it. Multiple articles have been written in women’s magazines on fellatio technique. There are websites and subreddits where this is talked about in graphic detail. You can watch technique “how to” videos on pornographic websites. Fellatio is talked about in film, in popular culture, and in media, in tones both serious and comedic. The internet has proliferated this. Sexual technique in general is talked about frequently and discussed, on websites, on subreddits, in online publications.

All this is true regarding anal sex as well, but to a somewhat lesser extent, I think. But nonetheless, the demand for anal, and the numbers of women willing to do it, is growing. This is in large part because of depictions of anal sex in pornography, that more women are willing to do it on camera (because it pays more), and that more men are wanting to do it or try it.

Maybe the most prominent effect is on women’s pubic hair grooming. It was the rare woman in the late 1980s who was doing anything with pubic hair other than occasional trimming. Now, women wax, shave, and trim on the regular, and almost all women do some form of girlscaping. Shaving pubic hair has become the poor girl’s waxing – it can be done as often as necessary and it’s much less expensive and less painful than waxing. This can also be traced to what porn actresses were doing with their pubic hair grooming (mostly waxing and the removal of all body hair below the waist).

Conclusions

It should now be glaringly evident to the reader that much of the trends we see in society, personal presentation and appearances, fitness, what is considered attractive, and even private sexual activities have been strongly shaped and contoured by standards that were only present in pornography not more than 30 years ago.

In addition to the cultural and sociosexual influences and the internet (which have been covered before), there have been advances in technology, cosmetic medical procedures, new diet plans, fitness routines, the development of anabolic therapeutic compounds that augment body building, and dietary supplements that increase weight loss, all of which have made bimbofication possible to any woman who cares to invest the time, effort, and money.

“Fellatio is talked about in film, in popular culture, and in media, in tones both serious and comedic.”

Blame the French: “The French f_ck with their mouths and fight with their feet…”

It was a common theme in the pop culture of my childhood, e.g. The Police Academy film (1984?), which my wife remembers seeing (with her mom!) and it was even in “family” films (as something normal for married couples) like Parenthood (1989) with Steve Martin.

Incidentally, as far as I can tell, the phrase, “sucks”, is an abbreviation of “sucks d_ck”, which I remember hearing a lot from the older kids on the school bus when I was 5-6 years old (1980-ish), as in, “Homework really sucks d_ck!”

When I was a kid, if a person said they were interested in anal sex (even with a woman) it would have been assumed that you were a gross pervert and/or homo. Anal sex is to the current generation, what oral sex was to our generation I suppose.

I remember a lot of kids at school talking about the movie Caligula (which was Hollywood’s first mainstream porn film), so a lot of kids of our generation must have seen that film. The PG movie Cannonball Run (1981) showed a brief clip (cut away just before the nudity started but with the moaning, etc. audible) of the 70s porn film Behind the Green Door. I saw that movie at about 6 years old with my grandmother!

Yeah, we (GenX) were raised with porn. I often wonder if my sex drive is higher than say my grandfathers’ because of being exposed to such much porn as a child. If my wife and I don’t have sex even for a few days if feels intolerable – emotionally, physically. I wonder if this is an effect of childhood exposure to porn.

Here’s John Derbyshire’s take on “playing the flute.”

Odds are that your testosterone levels are lower than your grandfathers’, so the answer to that question is most likely “no”. That’s true for most of us, and nobody really knows why. There are a lot of hypotheses, but no definite answers.

By the way, your comment reminds me of a funny meme.

Children harmed by early porn exposure act out in very noticeable ways. If you are uncertain then relax, you’re normal.

My wife’s mother was awful – terrible parent.

My grandmother was a sweet country woman from rural West Virginia who had no idea what she was taking us to see – she just thought it was a fun PG kids movie. She never took us to a movie again.

I guess my main point is we were exposed to porn from a very young age, in increasing severity over time. It started with mild stuff but got worse and worse. My parents weren’t raised in that world.

The pornstar appearance looks gross to me. All it makes me think about is filth and disease and skanks. Give me the cute girl next door any day.

The women shaving their pubic area thing is troubling. That sounds like trying to look like a prepubescent child. You wonder if this sort of thing doesn’t encourage molestation/rape of little girls.

Same thing for the big-weenie porn fetish. Yeah I get that the psychological appeal is probably that you’re supposed to be THAT guy doing it with THAT hot, petite chick with the big boobs. But think about what it could encourage. Most men can only simulate that sort of thing in real life by having sex with a small, underage girl. How many little girls are molested/raped because of this sort of thing men get it in their head from watching porn? I saw someone, somewhere suggest this – I had never occurred to me but yeah I can see it being a cause.

If I seem sensitive to the child molestation thing it’s because last year the husband of my wife’s former BFF (we met them in Cub Scouts) was arrested for raping his 2 young daughters – he had been doing it for years. He was a womanizer – and guess what – a child rapist too. Hope he enjoys rotting with Brevard county’s finest. Take a look at a child predator map for your area – there are a lot of sickos out there.

Porn isn’t harmless – it harms you and it harms the society you’re raising your children in. In a sane society pornographers would be arrested and thrown in jail.

They’ve normalized everything else in our society. You know what’s coming next people. They’re coming for our children.

Eh, my wife and I tried it. It feels better and also eliminates pubic hairs rubbing against each other which is uncomfortable or painful at times. Stuck with it because of that.

I don’t know about the rest, but we prefer it because of that.

Part of it is what was posed as hot by media in 80s and 90s was just not. I remember as a kid seeing some of the women they propped as hot, and oh no, I didn’t want any of that. A neighbor kids mom had a body like the girl on right into her 40s. That was hot, not Ally McBeal, nor any of the girls on Sex and the City… Gross! I don’t think these curves came out of nowhere. They just propped rail thin unattractive women and now they don’t.

E entertainment would have the red carpet walks a few times a year and they were all starving themselves and not looking good. All the runway models were the same besides the Victoria’s Secret models. There were way better looking girls at my high school and even a few teachers. One teacher had a 10 body. The girls above are still not the norm. The norm is 5’3″ 170lbs of pork. These girls who are in solid shape get passed around by chads — which is what they want. Also our food has so much estrogen it’s affecting women’s curves a bit.

On topic, Bruce Charlton just put this up.

Christian women used to be more religious than men – now they are less

“Women have become on average more leftist and materialist-atheist than men; because society is now dominated by materialist-atheistic leftism – and women’s innate conformity and desire of peer group acceptance leads them to track these changes in society.

Women’s greater usage of (and addiction to) mass- and social-media has exacerbated what was already a strongly established pattern – since the peer group of women is now more powerfully virtual than real – and this peer group is monitored and controlled by the global powers of purposive evil.

In place of the indomitable Babushkas, modern middle-aged and elderly women display extremely little courage in support of Christian ideals and living; because these are now disapproved by their peer group. They merely drift – expediently – towards whatever they feel will be most accepted by the dominant public discourse.

What were women’s strengths are now women’s weaknesses – their Achilles heel.”

The phenomena of women being more religious than men is a Western European thing dating to the late Middle Ages. Doesn’t apply in Orthodox or Muslim countries, or to Jews. Leon Podles has written about it.

Was never really into porn. Sure, in college we would all watch one for laughs……porn back then (1980’s / early 1990’s) dumb story lines. Terrible acting and Ron Jeremy types……very fake looking women with big hair. Campy. Bad fashions.

I did subscribe to Playboy in college / grad school. Sure, the Jenny McCarthy issue from 1994 is the only I have left now. Sitting in buried in a footlocker that has Details Magazines from the 1990’s, newspaper clippings, flyers from college……and some old shirts from my college days I won’t part with…..

Honestly though……really…….Playboy had great interviews, excellent fiction / short stories and their fashion issue was ALWAYS spot on for men for the upcoming year. It always had great articles about current topics….and many were actually very well balanced. I know its cliche to say this. Even more sureal was girls would hang in my dorm room, and they would pick it up and immediately flip to the spread. I was called a sexist / chauvenist for having it / reading it…..but when they cam…they were the ones who picked up first. I subscribed to several magazines in college. Time, Playboy, Rolling Stone, Details……

I’ve viewed modern porn online…..not for many years……but yeah, its slick today. I didn’t even view the more gonzo stuff….just the normal….but many of these porn studios now are like hollywood in production quality. No stories now….or very few. Just mood, the act and I can see why many younger guys wouldn’t bother with even trying to date.

Porn isn’t good for you….but neither is smoking, drinking alcohol, eating most food today, tying your shoes or getting up in the morning….

I can say with honesty…if I was a younger guy,. I would be viewing porn online, and probably frequently….as would the lower 80% of younger men probably do.

Earlier, I wrote that our culture is degenerating into a bizarre mixture of Muslim-like prudishness, and pagan hedonism. This article brings up another bizarre paradox.

On the one hand, 70% of American women are fat. On the other hand, the “hot” women are signaling “hotness” more intensely than ever, and staying “hot” longer than ever.

    Talk about crazy.

Not at all, and that’s also having some effect on women. Women like to stand out from the crowd, and when every woman dresses like a harlot, a woman dressed like a harlot just blends into the background of harlotry. Some young women are figuring out that they stand out a lot more in a flowery summer dress than in yoga pants.

While I understand that porn can and does have cultural impacts, as I read I kept questioning if the causation attributed to it could not be equally, or even to a greater extent, attributed to other cultural factors. With each point I found myself asking did porn directly create this or was porn just one of the players reinforcing a cultural trend? My take on porn is that it is a for profit endeavor and, as such, it is more likely that it picks up on cultural trends to be able to profit from them at the same timing exacerbating the trends by eventually depicting them in the extreme.

I think a much more likely scenario is that when feminism unmoored female sexuality from the patriarchy, and then eviscerated the patriarchy itself, the biblical ideals of sex within marriage and the characteristics that are required for successful marriage, were deemphasized in favor of unchecked female hypergamy and male visual stimulation. The resulting shift would, and did, lead to a so called arms race of women trying to be the “one” for the best man around to satisfy her hypergamy and that meant being the most physically alluring. Add to this promiscuity and now an arms race of sex acts is part of the equation for judging attractiveness and the most attractive men can dictate terms, such as the three date rule.

Take fellatio for example. Men have always wanted this (there are good arguments for this act being depicted in the Song of Solomon with his Shulamite bride) and it is understandable as it is an act that clearly defines male and female dominance and submission as well as being highly erotic. I find it more likely in this case that Victorian cultural stuffiness regarding sex was undone by women having to be more willing to accommodate the top tier male’s desires in the absence of patriarchal governance of the sexual market place. If this is what men desire, and porn sells what men desire, then porn is more likely the down stream indicator of culture, albeit with a powerful reinforcing feedback loop.

Female personal grooming could also be more driven by the SMP than by porn. Keep in mind the rule that women want to look good for the top men. Clothing companies, who do a very good job knowing what women want to buy, started creating smaller and smaller swimwear and underwear in the 1970s and the minimalist trend intensifies in the 1980s and 1990s. Removing and grooming pubic hair becomes part of the equation in completing the look. Men like it and porn picks up on the trend and takes it further, influencing the existing trend.

Women’s body shape and fitness level changes (in some segments of society) fit the same trend of women trying to get the top tier men. Men have always likes shapely women. As locustsplease noted a few up thread the waif thin model types of the 90s were not very attractive. God made men to recognize good genetics for reproduction in the form of hips, backsides and breasts. What women found out with the advent of the Jane Fonda workout videos and then the tsunami of imitators that followed, is that men really like shapely female bodies (can I get an amen?!) and that toning those bodies makes them look even better to men. After that realization, women’s fitness becomes another avenue to compete with each other over being the object of a top tier man’s desires. Body modification surgeries and tight gym clothing (yoga pants are like a push up bra for her butt and smooth out problem areas) are the results of this competition’s incentives to the chagrin of all the feminists fighting the evil patriarchy. Again, porn follows trends that sell and serves as the reinforcing feedback loop that propels the image to the end of the normal curve.

The post is good, but I think it misplaces causation on what is a symptom and an intensifier instead of the underlying sickness.

You might be on to something here. Being an older guy (and quoted at the beginning for my observations at the gym), I’ve noticed two more things recently with the younger women’s gym outfits and also their swim suits. At the gym, it’s not just the tight, form fitting pants (either shorts or the lengthier version as pictured in so many of the pics up in the post), it’s their tops too. I noticed my gym has ‘rules’ posted and it covers clothing not considered appropriate for working out in, of course this rarely seems to get enforced. Anyways, the girls are violating one of the gym clothing rules because they’re wearing workout tops that leave their entire midsection uncovered to include their rib cage area. The part of the top approaching their breasts and covering their breasts looks something like a push up bra. The top concludes with spaghetti bra straps. Of course, their tight and form fitting pants, short or long, still leave little to nothing to the imagination.

On a recent vacation at the beach, I noticed older teen and twenty something girls with nice figures, almost all… no scratch that, ALL of them were wearing thongs and stringy tops. All that covered their pubic area were patches of some shape and size. I thought, “Wow, and we thought bikini’s back-in-the-day (essentially colorful bra and panty sets) were all the rage.” The Gen Z girls on the beach look like they need a pole placed in the sand for them to dance around.

“…women’s fitness becomes another avenue to compete with each other over being the object of a top tier man’s desires.”

This is the part you got me thinking about that hadn’t occurred to me. I was looking at it as part of the seemingly continuous women’s fashion trend to show more and more skin, requiring less and less imagination. In other words, the herd mentality to fit in and be fashionable. I had not framed it as part of their competition to get the top-tiered men to take notice. It makes sense. If 90+ percent of the women are after the top 10% of the men, Chad and Tyrone, they need to stand out among the other women so Chad and Tyrone will pick them before the other girls. In other words, unless a woman is drop dead gorgeous and Chad couldn’t help but notice, how is she going to get him to notice her and pick her over the other girls when so many others are thoting it up? She’s got to differentiate herself from the crowd, right?

This explains two teenage girls, sisters I believe, who were with their mother at the beach I was vacationing at last month. My family’s spot for the day was right behind their chosen spot, and I had a bulls-eye view of it being demonstrated. The two girls, both good looking, long hair, tight curvy bodies, pretty faces, were in thong bikinis. The older looked to be 19-20, the younger one 16 maybe. Older sis was curvier, what you’d expect to see in a 20 year old, but younger sis was developing nicely with a curvy slim look that was as enticing as big sis, just in a different way. Both were in thong bathing suits and at one point both got up and were standing next to each other as they looked up and down the beach, probably wondering where the h*ll Chad was at — LoL. The older one’s thong showed her butt cheeks nicely, but the younger one’s thong rode right up inside her crack with a clear outline of her vagina. I thought, “Little sis beat out big sis for Chad’s attention!” Little sis also had ties on the side of her bikini so Chad didn’t even have to pull her bottoms down, just release the ties and go to work. Mom, of course, was sitting there acting oblivious to the whole sex show going on. LoL — J/K… No, she probably set the whole thing up and was getting something from it vicariously, i.e. pimping her daughters for Chad; seeing what her daughters might be able to reel in from the sea! Reliving her youth or whatever.

RPB – Precisely. The world is filled with people who act on incentives. The better we become at discerning those incentives the more predictable and ordered the world becomes to us. In the case of the beach bums (pun most definitely intended) you, ahem, observed in your example, all they may realize is that they get more of the type of attention they want, without even actively seeking a specific person’s attention, and that can be enough.

In watching the two young ladies, I thought back to when I was their age. Would I have been turned on? Absolutely! Would I have approached? No way. I was handsome, athletic, but not like a hawt stud or anything, more like a normal teen or early twenty something that was in shape with decent muscles. I had a degree of confidence, but not that much confidence. For some reason in my young mind, I realized back then that they were not attired that way for me. It wasn’t thongs back then, but rather skimpy bikinis which they untied the top as they lay on their towels. The showmanship part was they’d raise up on their elbows so you could get a hint of their breasts from the side, that was for everyone’s viewing pleasure, teen boys and ‘dirty old men’ alike.

It seemed to me that they had a ‘do not approach’ sign about their demeanor, unless you were THAT guy. I saw average dudes try it, the girls might laugh a little at their pick up lines, flirt just a bit (crumbs), but then inevitably dismiss them in some way; not mean, just “Okay, enough’s enough Beta boy, now just run along.” Now if Chad showed up, that demeanor radically shifted, plus the body language as well, e.g. positioning themselves on their towels so Chad couldn’t help but get the message. Many of them set up near the lifeguard stands because 99% of those guys were Chad and the bikini contest was on. I was so jealous of those lifeguards, lol, they just sat in that chair all day, and in my mind, just picked their ‘date’ for the evening; easy peasy pickings for them!

So, what I think I’m getting at with the two scantily clad sisters, they wanted general attention for sure, aren’t most good looking young women attention/validation seeking beings? However, what they really wanted (fantasized about?) was HIS attention. And to get it, he had to notice HER and not the other girls. What better way than to dress and ring the proverbial “Come and get it!” ‘dinner bell’ for Chad. It was strange, but big sis should have been Chad’s number one pick, but I think little sis (or mom maybe), gave herself a competitive advantage with the thong being so skimpy, so revealing. Quite frankly, it was a freakin’ porn show what she was wearing and doing by displaying herself, it was not a bathing suit in my opinion. Big sis was wearing a thong, little sis might as well have been naked.

The modern sex/dating scene going to extremes is nothing but an iterative Pareto principle.

      RPA,
I think your main point is right on track. What we see today is more along the lines of social relevancy and competing for the attentions of the prime men. But I also want to add that it is female nature to do so, and so it is not as dependent on the expectations of men as you say.

I have a few quibbles, but they don’t undermine your main point.

“Ultimately, the most attractive men dictate the terms, such as the three date rule.”

I don’t agree with this. Deti, NovaSeeker, and I have all noticed that it is women who expect sex within the first few dates, and if the man is not sufficiently aggressive to that end, she’ll ghost him and go on to the next guy.

“Victorian cultural stuffiness regarding sex was undone by women having to be more willing to accommodate the top tier male’s desires in the absence of patriarchal governance of the sexual market place. If this [i.e. fellatio] is what men desire, and porn sells what men desire, then porn is more likely the down stream indicator of culture, albeit with a powerful reinforcing feedback loop.”

I agree that porn and other cultural depictions of sexuality form a feedback loop. But in regard to the example you gave of fellatio, it is not men who dictate the terms. Fellatio is a natural expression of unrestrained sexual passion. It’s not just men who want it. Women love to do it too (but only with certain men, of course). Fellatio is one of those weird evolutionary quirks about human instinct. It’s like there is a powerful magnetic tractor beam between the tip of a man’s penis and the back of a woman’s throat. Women are highly sexualized beings, and they don’t need to be taught, they just need encouragement to trust the man and get past their inhibitions. Years ago, women would not admit to this because it was socially unacceptable (see note below) and many women wouldn’t do it for the same reason. But now, it is accepted and kind of expected, so we see the feral nature coming out in full expression.

Yes, and I’ll take it further. This is all a “polite” politically correct reframing that attempts to ultimately pin responsibility on men. The fact is that it’s female nature to engage in a “race to the bottom” (in terms of defilement) in the Bimbo competition for access to preferred men, but it’s obscene to say so (see note below).

Note: In general, the strange madness of unrestrained female sexual passion, AKA “hysteria“, is the core of what is considered obscene and it is what delineates porn from “art”.

As a kid in the late 90s, I was creeped out by the then-new (at least in my area) fashion of preteen girls wearing hot pants. Couldn’t figure out how mothers would allow that, didn’t they know that grown men would now be checking out their daughters? Just a few years earlier my married sister had bought a pair to wear around the home for her husband’s viewing pleasure, but she was horrified by the idea that someone else might see her in them.
Looking back, it was probably the mothers buying the clothes for the daughters and there were no fathers around to object. Now everyone is just desensitized to it.

Now a couple of female Olympic teams — a volleyball team and I think the German gymnastics team — are wearing less revealing clothes and “conservatives” are making fun of them.

The mothers didn’t “allow” it. They were the cause of it. Mothers buy their children’s clothes.

“…didn’t they know that grown men would now be checking out their daughters?”

They were counting on it. Just as some fathers live vicariously through their sons’ athletic triumphs, some mothers live vicariously through their daughters’ youth and beauty. I’m not sure if it’s worse with mothers who were beautiful in their youth, or mothers who were never beautiful, but have daughters who are. I’ve seen both.

“Looking back, it was probably the mothers buying the clothes for the daughters…”

      Exactly.

Either that, or the fathers are around, but they fear their wives. I’m not sure which is more common.

You should see the cleavage women display at work. In the late 1980s at college, if you were seeing that much cleavage on a woman, it was behind closed doors, she had already decided it was time to get busy, and it was “Game ON!” Today, you see women showing at least 2 or 3 inches of cleavage at work every day.

  11. “The difference between a 7 body in 1995 and a 7 body now is muscle tone/firmness/tightness. In 1995, there were some girls who looked better with clothes than they did without, and some who looked better without than with, but since most girls wear clothes more than they are naked, most girls went for a look that looked better in clothes (including most “hot” girls in that era as well).”

Not sure I agree with most of the analysis in this article.

Most men I talk to still prefer the supermodel look which is big boobs, decent butt, and mostly thin but maybe a little tone. Think Kate Upton. They don’t prefer the very toned and semi-muscular look of the women you referenced above. This seems to be a more Instagram phenomena. Of course, you could argue that Instagram is what is influencing Millennials/Gen Z, at least that way, which are the primary models of today.

Still, none of the biggest porn search terms are fitness related terms either, at least according to the PornHub data they release every year.

Calista Flockhart was the modern incarnation of Twiggy, and she was widely considered unattractively skinny in her Ally McBeal days.

Slightly off topic, leaving aside the morbid obesity of modern women, and the number of them that go around dressed up like streetwalkers, what is the deal with getting tattoed up like a hardcore felon?

I was staying at the Radisson Blu hotel in formerly East Berlin in 2018, and my last weekend there, the pot(marijuana) parade went by in front of my hotel. Sure, there were people with piercings and tattoes, but it was nothing like the freakishly tatted up soccer mom’s at the mall, and the prison tatted up coeds.

These days if you remove the tatty/fatty crowd, there isn’t much left.

You all made some good points about how mothers dress their girls these days, and why.

Fathers need to set, and enforce the standard. I empathize with dads who are afraid of their wives – after all, their wives wield the power of the state – but we need to set, and enforce the standard anyway. My girls wear swim shorts and a rash guard (surfing t-shirt) over their bathing suit when they swim. I set that standard when they were little girls (one still is, and one is yet to be born). Now, my oldest girls are 20, and they still dress the same way when swimming. Compare that with the girls RPB saw at the beach.

Obviously, that’s a lot easier to do when your wife is cooperative.

That brings us to the subject of dads who’ve been removed from their children’s lives. For those men, I can only offer prayer, because I have no idea how to solve that conundrum.

I work at a conservative firm (small letter “c” conservative). I have not seen any woman, or man for that matter, dress inappropriately at work. It’s not suits here (though I do throw on a sport / dress coat some days)…. but all men are in ties, solid color, button down. Slacks, dress shoes. Women in dresses, or knee length skirts. Most wear a tasteful blouse, tasteful low heels. Sneakers are not allowed. Even our casual Friday which is the LAST Friday of the month. No sneakers or jeans with holes / distressed are allowed. No tee-shirts, shirts still must have a collar. No form fitting pants (these would be yoga pants?).

No one seems to complain, but the majority of this office is GenX. Older. The average age here is about 50-55. The younger ones do follow the dress code, and I have not heard any complaints from them about it…. and they usually gripe first on everything. They all seem to think the company should buy them lunch everyday….. boggles the mind.

In property management, higher end….. this is probably the reason why the dress code is still in place here. One co-worker said his dad worked here in the 1960’s. It was a suit M-F. So I guess it has relaxed.

There is a rule about sideburns / muttonchops on men….. “It must be kept clean, sculpted, and trimmed”. Tattoos on men and women need to be covered / not seen at work. And most men and women my age do have a tat somewhere……. The odds favor this. Remember every woman with some design or faire on the nape of her back in 1998? Yeah, she’s 50 now. With most of the men my age, you can tell many have a sleeve tat of sorts (probably effing stupid looking if truth be told), but they have it covered at work in long sleeve dress shirts.

WInona was the only woman who could rock a pair of jeans with polished doc martens and a crisp optic-white tee with ease. So 1990’s GenX “Gap Ad” looking. In high school I had a picture of Lisa Bonet from “a different world” era greeting me every morning. Man, I thought she was so hip back in the 1980’s. Jenny McCarthy I thought was just so perfectly cute in the early / mid 1990’s. Elizabeth Hurley I think I had a wank or two over as a late twenty-something 😉

Today, I really don’t have a type, if I ever did…..I met Liv Tyler at a party in 1997? 1998? in San Francisco. Actually very average looking. The magazines and photos made her look like a tall striking supermodel. She was pretty average. No, not ugly….but not as awesome as movies and magazines made her look. I am sure that is the case with all these women. Was at a party with Fiona Apple (singer) around this same time. Did nothing for me. Zero.

Racking my brain of a woman today (younger or older) who makes me gibve a second look….or “hey, how about that?” and I really don’t know.

I’m with you on this one anonymous_ng, I don’t get this either; maybe it’s my age, but really now ladies, “What the ħɘll is going on with that?” A tasteful little tattoo, or a couple, in a place on the body that it looks nice, I’m okay with that; it can look appealing and even sexy. But these arm and leg sleeves (is that the proper name for them?), I wonder what the ħɘll they were thinking when they got that done to those beautiful arms and/or legs that God gave them, and they’re working so hard at the gym to tone them?

There’s one girl at the gym I go to, very beautiful, easily a 9, maybe a 10 if her boobs were a bit larger. She has tattoos all over her legs. They are stylish in that it sort of looks like she’s wearing fancy patterned, thigh high stockings; but nope, they’re tats. She catches my every time because I think simultaneously, how sexy looking her legs are, but they’re tats, not stockings! And all the chicks with arm and/or leg sleeves, I just sit there thinking, “Why did you mess those lovely arms and/or legs up like that? And you’ll be like that for life unless you have some expensive, painful procedure (so I’ve heard) to remove them.”

I get that it is the style, the trend, but I’ve also heard some thirty something and forty something women talking about the tattoos they got when they were twenty somethings. ALL of them so far wished that hadn’t done it, and/or have taken steps to remove or blank them out. (Sorry, don’t know the actual terms for what it is called.)

I will say, for the men, they can seemingly get away with a bit more tattooing, however even on them, I see limits. Some of the guys, I’ll think to myself, “That’s a pretty cool tat schema you’ve got there man!” For others, it’s more like, “Dude, don’t you think you overdid that just a bit? Like ‘Come on man, what the ħɘll were you thinking?”

Maybe that’s just it, none of the younger generation is thinking long term with this tat thing they’ve got going on; all short term thinking. Enlighten me guys, am I on target, or am I missing something here?

That’s correct, and that short-term thinking manifests itself in other ways.

Business Insider: Do Tattoos Mean Sex?

“People with tattoos and body piercings have sex at younger ages, have sex more often, have more oral sex, and are far less likely to be religious.”

Some authors suggest association between body piercings/tattoos and early sexual initiation, higher number of sexual partners, or risky sexual behaviors.

To which any man who ever heard the term “tramp stamp” replies, “No kidding, Einstein!”

Tattoos and piercings can also be a form of self-harm, and/or addiction. Basically, tattoos and piercings (along with crazy hair colors) are a form of aposematism. They’re warning signs that say, “I’m a damaged, poisonous person. Stay away.”

In case anyone’s wondering, the same principle applies to men.

I’m with you on this one anonymous_ng, I don’t get this either; maybe it’s my age, but really now ladies, “What the ħɘll is going on with that?”

I have no proof of this, but my own personal theory is that most of these women have EXTREMELY low self-esteem. There is no other reason for etching your flesh with hideous images in toxic ink that will permanently embarrass you in old age — should you even live to see advanced age, given your obviously reckless lifestyle.

“A tasteful little tattoo, or a couple, in a place on the body that it looks nice, I’m okay with that; it can look appealing and even sexy.”

Sorry, but I have to disagree. A woman who scrawls graffiti on her flesh detracts from the natural beauty of that flesh, which God created as He did for a reason. Again, a woman who mars herself in such a way is a woman with self-esteem issues.

On a related note, will someone please explain to me how there is any difference between a girl/woman who cuts herself and one who gets herself tatted?

One is socially acceptable (now), and the other is not (for now). Other than that, no difference.

Guess I’m an old fogey. I would consider even one tattoo on a woman to be a deal breaker. Nope – I’ll be celibate. Same with any odd piercings.

Tattooing on women might have various causes but one reason they do it is to signal that they’re hot/wild. It’s to get male attention. It can turn men on because it suggests a girl who’s up for anything. “I’ll do oral (or whatever) on the first date.” “I’ll do things a porn star does.” etc.

If they want to be regarded as a toilet for man chowder then it’s a very effective strategy.

I used to see it this way too, but I think it’s all relative now. The women with the small tattoo or two, while still ‘marring the flesh,’ is at least not going all out as the one’s with the sleeve tattoos on their arms and legs; certainly not the one’s that have them up to their necks. In a weird way, having only a modest tattoo signals trying to fit into the trend without going all the way in. What does this mean? Not sure, just shows some degree of restraint.

I will grant you, the young woman who shows up with no tattoos, she may look a little ‘out of place’ these days, but it does speak to the possibility she just might be, if not the fabled ‘unicorn,’ at least a decent possible mate for a younger guy. She’d still have to be vetted because having no tattoo is sadly no guarantee she’s not a feminist at heart or defaulting to following the feminist ‘life script.’

The young lady in the educational program I coached who I’ve written about as being the catalyst for my becoming red pilled a few years back, as far as I know has no tats, however her life is a veritable train wreck in so many other ways. In her case, it’s the other red flags, not tats that really disqualifies her as a potential mate: high N-count, Alpha widow, recreational drug user (cocaine), all the New Age healing stuff she’s into, etc. etc.

This is @ RPB. But for all I guess.

I WOULD CHOOSE JESSA DUGGAR’S FAT FRIEND (maybe she has a Chick Fil-A addiction) over a hot/beautiful/etc. girl with a SINGLE tattoo (Christian girl or not, tattoo discrete or not). That decision wouldn’t take a me microsecond to make.

I apologize ahead of time if I insult anyone’s family or friends. That is just the reaction I have to tattoos on women.

But, seriously, I have a similar aversion to tattoos. For me, it’s a Hispanic thing. In my native country, only harlots wore tattoos, and that impression has never left me.

Besides, the data obviously support that impression. It’s funny how people in the past used to learn by observation what moderns can’t even learn through “the science” they claim to “believe in”.

Yeah, if you watch the show, occasionally you’ll see an obese girl or two, dressed in long Baptist skirts. Usually at some large Duggar gathering.

I’d pick a fattie over a tattie. Any day.

I just remember in the early 1990’s it became the “thing” to do….and then it exploded. Your mom was even getting a tattoo in many cases. I have a fear of needles, so I never got one. Yes, I will get blood drawn, but I really get nausea when I see one coming at me. Good thing too….I know I would have got into mainlining cocaine or heroin if I didn’t have this mild fear of them…or I would have been inked up really heavily

I don’t remember tattooing being common, particularly among women, until at least the late 1990s. I graduated HS in the early 90s – I don’t remember tattooing even among older 20 and 30 something locals.

It could be the difference between small town Florida and the Bay area where you lived. It just hadn’t reached us yet.

In the early 1990’s I was in Vermont at a small college. People were getting tat’s like crazy. It was a “liberal arts” college and I also saw firsthand PC dictates become normal, way before many other parts of the country. It could have been stopped, but you know, we were all BS-ing each other, drinking, doing drugs, assuming that “this won’t ever catch on in the real world.”

How wrong we were. We could’ve stopped it. We didn’t. This was huge in New England in the arts colleges, and those of us who were there did nothing to stop it. Nothing.

Just finished reading the OP. This is so heartbreaking to me. And the mainstream Christian world is completely blind to it, arguing over whether God told them it’s okay to wear bikinis and yoga pants and then flaunting their pics on social media and absorbing the “Wow! You’re hot!!!” comments about themselves AND their daughters.

Then they’re shocked when their daughters slip completely over the edge.

    This deeply saddens my heart.

My wife has a tiny flower tattoo on her ankle, one of simple and tasteful design that’s barely even visible unless you look for it. She got it in her early 20s before she was saved and deeply regrets getting it. She’s doing the best she can to “erase it” by letting the sun fade it over time. She absolutely recoils in horror at the sight of the graffiti-ed, pin cushion-pierced (and often obese) Amerislore that is so common in this country today. In her native country even women who get tattoos (a rarity) do so tastefully. Only “mujeres de la calle” (women of the street) get inked up all over their bodies the way Amerislores do, and they are women shunned by civilized society.

I have a younger Christian couple in their mid-thirties as part of the church Life Group I’m in. The female is quite pretty, blonde with a nice curvy body. She had a tattoo on the inside of her forearm with a paraphrase of scripture: “Faith, Hope, Love” in a classy looking font. I initially thought, “How nice, expressing her faith in God.” When I asked her about it, she had regrets about getting it and told me she had other tats not visible to the eye unless she was in a swim suit or less. I was like, “Really?”

Raised a Christian girl, youth group and all that, she went to a large state university and was a cheerleader there. With my prior blue pill mindset, I would have thought, “Oh how cool! What a great collegiate experience that must have been, cheering for your top ten BCS competitive team.” However, with my red pill mindset, red flag number one went flying up the pole. Blonde, good looking, curvy cheerleader around all those testosterone fueled young men in the midst of the collegiate hook-up scene… “Yikes!”

Now, you have to picture this, she’s 34, been married 10 years, two kids, church going, and endeavoring to grow in her faith. She’s a good wife and mom from everything I’ve been able to see. (I’ve been to their house a couple of times for Life Group social events like the Superbowl.)

Back to the tats. She asked me, “Want to see them?” This was not to show off, but to demonstrate to me her shame about having any at all and wishing she could just get rid of them all. I said, “I don’t know, nothing too revealing.” She indicated it was not like that, and her husband was standing right there and he didn’t care. She raised the side of her shirt off her hip just a bit and I bit my tongue to stifle the gasp. Both sides of her hip traveling up her rib cage, large tats, and she said she had another one, fairly large, in the middle of her back. She didn’t try to show me that one, thank God. I thought, “Now I get why she doesn’t like to go to the pool or the beach.” She did say she only wore one piece suits, not two piece bikini’s, because she could get one that covered her tats. I thought what a shame because this woman’s figure was made for a bikini.

I stood there thinking, “OMG, even the Christian girls have them, just like the secular girls!” I know we differentiate the Churchians from the serious Christians, however it still momentarily threw me a curve ball. I had a brief bought with cognitive dissonance, but got over it when I realized, “Yep, that’s how far down hill this thing has gone with the tats.”

It would be interesting to hear the answers from this lady to the questions of “What made you want to ink up your body in the first place? Were you not aware that tattoos are PERMANENT, unless you want to go the expense and agony of laser removal? Did that not ever enter your mind when you were determined to be ‘cool’ and ‘with it’?”

I know that such questions are usually a waste of time where women are concerned, given 1) their almost genetic inability to understand cause and effect, and 2) their inability to think long term.

Weirdly, now she strikes me as not like you described above. She’s got a lot of the Proverbs 31 like woman in her. Now, back in her early twenties, something must have gone out of whack for a season because she couldn’t have acquired all the traits she’s demonstrating today in just ten years. She occurs as very mature for her age and heady. She is a sharp cookie and very responsible. I do think she understands cause and effect and can think long term.

Her family situation, which was a bit wobbly in certain respects, might have been the root cause of her getting the tats. There was something off about mom and dad, oh yeah, I think there was a divorce and remarriage back there when she was very young, and there might have been some abuse from a relative who was inappropriate with her. Not hardcore abuse like f-ing her, more like having the cute little blonde girl expose herself, maybe she got diddled, I don’t know for certain.

Her church growing up years, even though they SOUNDED LIKE they fit a good pattern for spiritual growth and development into a nice young Christian woman, apparently fell completely apart when she got to State U. The siren song of d!cks must have been calling, and off she went to the CC. The tats must have been part of her CC rebellion against how she was raised and what happened in the dark recesses of her ‘good’ Christian family.
